Putting dignity at the heart of our services
If you or a family member has ever been in the hands of a care service then you will know the importance of ensuring dignity and compassion is upheld to the highest of standards.
A team of fully-trained, kind-hearted staff can make all the difference to a person’s quality of life and we believe it is of the utmost importance to safeguard the ability for a person to live independently, for as long as possible, in the comfort of their own home and to be treated with complete dignity and respect.
In 2006 the Dignity in Care campaign launched with the aim of improving the quality of care and the experience of people using services including NHS hospitals, community services, care homes and home support services. This year the awareness day is set to take place once again on 1st February 2018.
Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their lives.
Clarriots Care Lincolnshire North Registered Manager, Kirsty Barnett, explains:
“We understand that many people want to remain in their own home for as long as possible and we work hard to make this happen by creating care packages specifically tailored to suit the needs of each person we care for. The emphasis is very much on enablement and supporting independence. Wherever possible, we will complete tasks with people rather than for people, ensuring their requests and needs are met.”
