If you had to be admitted to hospital or were advised that respite for a short time would be beneficial to you, we would need to be notified as soon as possible. We would cancel your visits for that duration and then upon your return home discuss with you how you would like to use the hours you have paid for but not used. We can either extend your contract by the number of hours outstanding or you can use them differently, such as for additional support for a few days to get you settled back at home.
This is a very rare occurrence. If Clarriots Care know that your Care Companion is unable to tend to you on a particular day, we will let you know as soon as possible and make arrangements for an alternative Care Companion to attend. They can be caught in traffic, so if your Care Companion does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, please let us know.
If your health improved or deteriorated, we would pick up on this during our reviews and with feedback from your Care Companion. A full Care Plan review would then be organised at your convenience and agreements would be made as to the best way forward to ensure that your care needs continue to be met.
Don’t worry, Clarriots Care understands that people often have other arrangements in place. Please inform us at least 48 hours in advance that you do not need a Care Companion to attend on a particular day. We will arrange for the service to recommence on the following day, or whenever you advise us to.
Clarriots Care understands the importance of pairing the right Care Companion for your needs. We also pride ourselves on our consistency of service - if we can provide the same Care Companion for familiarity every time, we will. Our Care Companions do need time off and any replacement will be trained to the same high standards we set. If a new Care Companion is assigned, by your request or ours, we will discuss the change and introduce the new Care Companion beforehand.
